I think it's really rude when girls go out with their friends (male or female) and expect the other person to pay for their meal. I understand if the two friends are so close that they alternate picking up the check, as long as it goes both ways. Even if the other person offers, I think it's always polite to pay for yourself. As a general rule, the only other person who should pay for a lady is her significant other or members of her family.
